Community Sport Hubs
Community sport hubs provide a home for sport.
They bring together sport clubs and key local partners who want to develop and grow the sporting offering in the community.
They focus on sustainable, community-led approaches that get clubs working together to develop welcoming, safe and fun environments for sport.
A community sport hub is focused on the clubs around a sport centre, community centre, school, park or a playing field pavilion. In some cases a community sport hub combines a number of these places, or it may simply centre on a single-venue hosting many clubs. The 'hub' is essentially a collective of progressive sport clubs working together in a local community.
North Ayrshire currently has four Community Sports Hub across the area. To find your nearest hub click here
All Community Sport Hubs work to the following five principles:
- Growth in participation
- Engage the local community
- Promote community leadership
- Offer a range of sporting opportunities
- Bring all appropriate (key) partners/ groups/people together

Football Coach Education
KA Leisure’s Football Development Department work in conjunction with the Scottish FA South West Region to run a full and comprehensive Coach Education programme for those who wish to coach teams at different age groups. The different pathways allow for specialist courses to take place within the children’s game (5-12years), youth and adult game (13+), and goalkeeping specific courses.

What is Positive Coaching Scotland?
KA Leisure is working with coaches and clubs in North Ayrshire on the Positive Coaching Scotland (PCS) programme to create a positive environment in youth sport – one which focuses on encouraging effort and learning, improving performance and fostering competition. This focus helps young people to understand the importance of effort rather than winning at all costs.
The programme involves key influencers in a young person’s life in sport – coaches, teachers, parents and club leaders.
