Hours: 12.25 hours per week (average)

Location: Vikingar, Largs, KA30 8QL

Job Purpose:

  • Pool supervision
  • Cleaning duties
  • Observe and promote Health and Safety
  • High standard of customer care
  • Assist with the day to day running of the facility

You Must Have:

  • Current National Pool Lifeguard Qualification

An exciting opportunity has arisen within North Ayrshire AC for a Club Together Officer – Development Officer in partnership with scottishathletics, North Ayrshire Council and KA Leisure. Club Together is a fundamental project within Scotland’s National Club Development programme for Athletics, Club Legacy 2014 that places a key focus on supporting the development of athletics clubs in the country.

The role will have a significant impact in the growth and development of volunteers, club coaches and officials and the twin aspects of our vision of increasing participation and performance sit at the heart of everything we do - neither however is possible without athletics clubs playing their part.

This part time post is funded through a partnership between North Ayrshire AC, scottishathletics, sportscotland, North Ayrshire Council and KA Leisure. Club Together is exactly that – clubs, scottishathletics and Local Authority coming together to deliver once and for all a programme that will make the athletics vision happen.

Club Together Officer – Community Coach
North Ayrshire AC

Club Together is a fundamental project within Scotland’s National Club Development programme for Athletics, Club Legacy 2014 that places a key focus on supporting the development of athletics clubs in the country.

The role will have a significant impact in the growth and development of club coaches and officials and develop a robust coaching infrastructure to allow for a growing club. Some of this membership growth will be attained through the delivery of a schools athletics programme, leading to the establishment of satellite After School Clubs operating from local schools. Pathways will also be created from the Run, Jump & Throw programmes delivered in the community. There is a requirement to develop regular Junior Coaching Programmes during school holidays, to attract new members.  Our vision of increasing participation and performance sit at the heart of everything we do.

The Community Coach will lead and mentor the coaching team, Local Authority coaches and Active Schools volunteer coaches where necessary and promote coach development through local courses, CPD and National Development Days.

A detailed job description, specifying clearly how the key Business case targets will be delivered, will be agreed with the successful applicant.

Relief Sports Coach

Job Purpose:

  • To pro-actively promote and deliver sports coaching programmes across North Ayrshire
  • Preparation of Sports Session Plans
  • Delivery of sports specific sports coaching sessions
  • Maintenance of accurate reporting
  • Ensure welfare of all participants

You Must Have:

  • Current teaching/coaching certificate as approved by the relevant Governing Body of Sport

Desirable:

  • HNC/HND in Sports Coaching

Swimming Instructor (Relief)

Job Purpose:

  • Promotion and delivery of swimming lessons to children and adults as part of the KA Leisure swimming programme. 

Main Activities:

  • Prepare and deliver a variety of swimming lessons.
  • Encourage and promote KA Leisure swimming lesson programme.
  • Ensure the health and safety of all staff and customers.

You must have:

  • Current teaching/coaching certificate as approved by the relevant Governing Body of Sport.
  • Availability to work evenings and/or weekends.

Aerobics/Aqua/Dance Instructor (Relief)

Rate of Pay: £17.41/hour

Location: Various locations throughout North Ayrshire
Job Purpose:    

To deliver fitness classes across KA Leisure and community facilities

Main Activities:

  • To deliver fitness classes within the KA Studio and community fitness programmes

You Must Have:

  • Hold a recognised REPS Level 2 qualification in any of the following disciplines; Exercise to  Music; Dance; BTS; Aqua; Pilates; Yoga; PSI; BACPR
  • An outgoing personality, positive attitude and excellent communication skills
