Safeguarding & Protecting Children and Safe Hands Workshops for Coaches
KA Leisure, in conjunction with sportscotland, sports coach UK & Children 1st, will be running the following coach and sports club workshops in 2012.
Safeguarding and Protecting Children

Attendance at this course is a prerequisite for doing the Club Child Protection Officer Training- Course - “In Safe Hands”
This sports coach UK workshop meets the same learning outcomes as the original Good Practice and Child Protection workshop. Therefore, despite this revision to the content and change of title, previous attendance on a Good Practice and Child Protection workshop will still be valid. When coaches are required to update their certificate of attendance, they will attend the new Safeguarding and Protecting Children workshop.
In Safe Hands

This three-hour workshop will focuses on helping Club Child Protection Officers to implement child protection policies and good practice into their clubs. The course offers an opportunity to meet people from local clubs and to identify the actions needed to implement Child Protection policies and procedures in the club. On completion, attendees will receive a certificate.
Those attending the ‘In Safe Hands’ course should have first attended sportscoach UK’s ‘Safeguarding and Protecting Children’ workshop.
All workshops will run from 6:30 PM till 9:30 PM and both courses will take place at the Magnum Leisure Centre, Irvine.
All participants are reminded to attend in plenty of time to start each workshop promptly.
All courses will cost : £25.00, which includes course materials.
