This workshop examines anxiety and how to cope with it in competitive sport. The multidimensional nature of anxiety will be explained and a number of applied techniques will be examined that can be used to help performers get the best from themselves when the pressure is on.
Volunteer Management for Clubs

Volunteers are crucial to the management and sustainability of sports clubs. This volunteer management workshop will give Club Leaders the underpinning knowledge, skills and tools to better support your club. The workshop will explore the context for volunteering, as well as looking at both the challenges and good practice within recruitment, support, recognition & reward and retention.

Marketing and Communication Workshop

Brought to you by Electrify Marketing & Communications, this workshop will focus on the importance of story telling - by which we mean marketing & communications.
Led by all-action all-energy Lawrence Broadie, the session will focus on how to bring to life the impact that your club makes every single day. Whilst ideal for your organisations leaders, fundraisers, and marketers, everyone is very welcome. We’ll work together - at some considerable pace - to give you practical advice and support as you co-create a story-telling campaign in a matter of minutes with your co-participants. Throw in our Ten Top (Electrifying) Tips and you’re sure to leave this session stirred and ready to put brilliant marketing and communications at the heart of your organisation’s strategy and ensure your club is good for the long haul!
Safeguarding and Protecting Children workshop - Level 1
Thursday 19th October at Garnock Community Campus, 6:00pm (£15.00 per person)
Every child deserves to enjoy their sport. This workshop will raise your awareness of the tell-tale signs of abuse, and give you the tools and confidence you need to deal with any issues sensitively, appropriately and effectively should the need ever arise in your coaching career. This workshop is a ‘Minimum Standards for Active Coaches’ requirement for many governing bodies of sport*. The 'Minimum Standards for Active Coaches’ are seen as the basic standards every coach needs to meet to carry out their role safely and effectively.
Club Development Workshop
Wednesday 15th November at KA Campus St. Matthew's, 6:30pm (£10.00 per person)
Throughout this workshop, you will explore:
• Different legal club structures and what could be best for your club
• The importance of setting a club vision
• The benefits of writing and implementing a Club Development Plan
• Who to involve in writing plans
• The clubs current commitments and developments
• The structure of a plan
• When and how to ensure it’s a working document
You will also create an action plan to develop and share your plan.
