League events will be postponed only where risk assessment prior to or on race day indicates that this is appropriate, e.g. icy conditions, high winds, very heavy rain. The decision to postpone is usually made based on weather forecasting, and schools would then be advised by phone call on the Wednesday prior to the race. However, weather forecasting is not always entirely accurate, and sometimes a decision may be taken based on risk assessment at the venue early on race day. In this case, we will do everything we can to advise schools of the decision to postpone prior to the scheduled start time of the event. Postponed events are usually rescheduled by adding an event on after the scheduled end of the league. If there is any doubt please contact Tel No. 01294 317457 before 4:00pm on the Friday prior to the race.
